The FJ Cruiser – The ideal family vehicle for the outdoorsy types (part one)

by Leila on August 1, 2012

I wrote previously about how much I love the Toyota Tundra. Driving that beefy truck of awesomness was an experience. I love camping and the outdoors so having a truck for our adventures is ideal though it’s not exactly practical.

I always felt like I’d want two vehicles – a smaller car for around town and then the truck or van to use for traveling. This isn’t exactly in the budget and seems ridiculous for a single mom with two kids.

Then I got in the FJ Cruiser and realized this was the perfect family vehicle. Seriously, it’s my perfect “Soccer Mom Vehicle”.

But replace Soccer Mom with OutdoorsyNinjaCampingFutureTravelTrailerHavingFishingAndPreparingForZombies Mom.

It has the outdoorsy awesomeness that I love but the comfort, features like the Entune system and size of a family vehicle. It has great towing capabilities, it looks like something out of Star Wars, it is super roomy and it can go in water!!!!

It’s the ultimate zombie apocalypse vehicle… for the whole family!

Basically, I’m going to get me one of these. The space in the FJ Cruiser is impressive and I’d be able to load up our camping loot and be off for an adventure easily.

I also love how this truck maneuvers! I expected it to take wide turns and be a bit of a beast but it is such a smooth ride. I can tell that winding up pukey roads in this will be a breeze!

Disclaimer: I am part of the TWIN aka Toyota Women Influencer Network. I was given an FJ Cruiser to drive for five days because I am a part of this program. I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way by the program or possible zombie attacks. Yes, I mentioned zombies again.
