A Giveaway: Summer Fun at Knotts Berry Farm

by Leila on June 6, 2012

I really do look like a giant compared to Snoopy!

I think it’s obvious by now that I’m a big kid who loves amusement parks… especially Knott’s Berry Farm! Since the early days of an annual pass I have owned one almost every year. When I lived out of state I still purchased one because I knew I’d want to hit up Knotts, eat funnel cake, play some carnival games and have an epic time with family and friends.

This year, as a pre-Mother’s Day celebration, I was invited to a special event with other local bloggers and we had the Champagne Brunch at Knotts Berry Farm. While I was eating all the delicious food, enjoying champagne and hanging out with my friends my Dad, Brother and Sister in Law had my kids at the park. I met up with them afterwards and my Dad bought the kid’s annual passes since we all planned on being there a lot over the summer… I was really excited about this and when I tweeted his generosity a friend asked why he didn’t get ME a pass?!

Yeah!!! Well, I bought my own that week as a special Mother’s Day treat for myself. It really was just an excuse to get one. It is well worth the price and we spend many summer days at Knotts Berry Farm even if we go just for a couple hours to ride a roller coaster, tackle… I mean HUG Snoopy and get some nummy foods.

A Season Pass to Knott’s Berry Farm is $69.99 for adults and $64.99 for seniors (62+) and kids (3-11). Seasonal passes can even be broken up in 3 easy, low payments of only $23.33! Seasonal passes are valid through December 31st, 2012.

I’d been a few times as a child, but nothing compares to the pure delight on my sons face the first time he went on the red baron planes.

So many memories!!! I had to learn and memorize “Linus and Lucy” for my piano recital when I was 9. I had a hard time learning the piece but I had fun playing it. One of my most cherished gifts from my grandfather was a hardbound compilation of Peanuts comic strips. My husband and I had our second date at Knotts. Everytime we’ve taken our kids to Knotts, our first stop is always Camp Snoopy.

My favorite thing was to go to Knott’s with just my dad when I was younger. I think he is the reason that I am fearless when it comes to roller coasters. We never spent any time in Camp Snoopy, although at the age I was I would have very much love to. My dad, being 6 foot 3 and about 260lbs, was way too big to fit on any of those rides. He always told me to put on my big girl pants and get on the big kid rides. And anyone who knows me is probably thinking, ” how in the heck could your short self ride any of those rides?” I was tall for my age, so there. My dad and I would ride what was then The Cork Screw a million times in a visit. I miss those days.

So, I have to get my Knott’s Cherry popped ;)

But a favorite memory of Snoopy and the Gang was back home in Minnesota when they commeorated all of these Snoopy Statues. They were put in different places all throughout town, and a lot of people would go on a scavenger hunt looking for them =)

But I love the Charlie Brown Christmas and Halloweens =) I own those ones teehee!! ;)

  7. Andie says:

I haven’t been in so long. BUT it was the mystery destination when I was in Brownies! So much fun!

As a child, my cousin lived near Knotts. So it was always my desire to spend summer there, even if we didn’t go often, I loved the idea of being right around the corner from all the excitement :)

  9. Emmy says:

We love Knotts! I love that the lines are never as bad as some of the other parks. My favorite memory was when we went a couple of years ago and my son overcame his fear and rode on the big roller coaster in camp snoopy- I was a proud mama!

We loved Snoopy & the gang growing up. We begged Mom to buy a Snoopy SnoCone Machine! We never did get one… My story: I have lived in Cali nearly ALL of my life and have NEVER BEEN to Knott’s Berry Farm. What a SHAME, right?! Now that I’m a Mommy to a toddler we MUST go to any and all of the family fun venues!

Thank you for hosting such a great giveaway AND for keeping entry simple! Love ya for that!

  11. Kyla says:

My favorite memory is when I was a little kid and my dad got us these spaceman-ish sunglasses and my brother and I thought we ruled the park. It was so hilarious.

  12. Di says:

I have only been there twice in my life. Traveling from Ohio when I was in elementary school ( I’m now 49 ) to visit my grandparents. I don’t remember the name of the restaurant, but having some of the best fried chicken & jelly I ever had, the rides & of course Snoopy. Some of the best memories of time with my grandparents I have.

  13. Romina says:

I went to Knott’s for my uncle’s company party. We had this amazing fried chicken. That was over 20 years ago and I still remember…yup, they were that good.

  14. Lori says:

I have always loved Snoopy and the Gang! I especially loved Snoopy, and had a Snoopy doll that I used to buy authentic Peanuts clothes for with my hard earned chore money. Ever since childhood I’ve always looked forward to the Peanuts specials on TV.

As far as my favorite Knott’s memory, I’d have to say the rides, and the fabulous chicken dinners! We have yet to take our kids to Knott’s, and would really love to make memories with them there as well. They’re big Snoopy and the Gang fans too!

My favorite memory of Knott’s Berry Farm was when we took our kids to Knott’s Merry Farm! The lights and festive decor really made it feel like a So Cal Christmas!

  17. Tee says:

I’ve always loved the Peanuts especially Woodstock! It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Knott’s but I love all the cool merchandise and the family rides! I especially love the bumper cars and taking pictures in their photo booths. Thanks for the chance!

  18. Wendy says:

My grandparents loved to go for chicken dinner at Knott’s. They actually ate chicken dinner in the Knott’s living room in the 1930′s when the restaurant started. When I was growing up they would take the whole family use to Knotts for dinner and then we would go to ghost town and on the merry go round back in the day when the admission to the park was free and only paid for the rides.

  19. Megan says:

I can’t get my son to get on anything except the semi trucks in Camp Snoopy. I did drag him on the log ride last time we went- he was spooked most of the ride but laughed after the big drop when he saw his little friend all wet.
